Privacy policy

Saffron is a recipe and kitchen organization app. No Saffron account is required. We do not include advertising trackers or sell your personal information.

Your kitchen data

Recipes, notes, meal plans, groceries, pantry items, preferences and assistant history are stored on your device. Saffron shares relevant local data with its own widgets, Siri shortcuts and share extension using an app group. When iCloud Drive is available, Saffron synchronizes your recipes, collections, meal plans, groceries, pantry, conversations, timers and checkmarks through your private iCloud account. This data is stored by Apple and is not sent to our editorial server. Offline changes remain on the device until iCloud reconnects. Device backups and iCloud availability are controlled by Apple and your device settings.

Recipe imports and websites

When you import a link or check an original source from a collection, Saffron requests that recipe from its publisher. The website receives ordinary network information such as your IP address. Its privacy policy applies. Your full collection and personal notes are not uploaded to a Saffron recipe server.

Apple Intelligence and voice

Supported Apple Intelligence features process recipe and assistant content on device. Devices without Apple Intelligence use local parsing and commands. Optional speech input uses Apple’s speech services; on-device recognition is used when available. Automatic wake phrase recognition requires on-device support. Microphone and speech permissions can be revoked in device Settings.

Editorial content

Saffron requests featured content from our Cloudflare-hosted service. Cloudflare processes network information needed to deliver and protect that service. We do not use this feed to track your activity across other companies’ apps or websites.

Notifications

Cooking reminders and other app notifications are scheduled locally when permission is granted. You can change notification permission in device Settings.

Support requests

If you email support, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send, and use it to respond and troubleshoot. Do not send sensitive information unnecessarily. Contact us to request deletion of support correspondence.

Your choices

You can edit or remove recipes and other kitchen items in the app, disable optional permissions and remove the app’s local data by deleting the app. Apple-controlled backups may retain data according to your backup settings.

Nutrition and policy updates

Nutrition estimates are informational, not medical guidance. We will update this page when the app’s data practices change.
